Charleston Municipal Auditorium Feasibility Study Renovations to a 53,000 square foot, 3,400 seat Art Deco Municipal Auditorium facility originally constructed in 1938 The Design Alliance recently completed a feasibility study in preparation for the City of Charleston, West Virginia fundraising campaign. This comprehensive evaluation included facility assessment, programming, schematic design, renderings and a detailed cost estimate. The detailed report outlined the following: Theatre improvements for state-of-the-art sound and technical equipment. Historic renovations to return the building to its Art Deco character. Building and systems renovations for code, life safety, maintenance and ADA upgrades. An 8,500 square foot addition that will house the lobby and reception space, ADA restrooms, ticket office and new entrances. The Design Alliance has been contracted for the entire project, which will continue following the fundraising campaign.
